VoIP Hardware
VoIP - Voice Over Internet Protocol / Voice Over IP
With VoIP services you can make free, unlimited calls to other
VoIP users. Now you can even call normal land lines both locally
and internationally including mobiles. Many VoIP service providers
will let you call land lines for free to anywhere in the UK, and
even further.
The benefit to your business is simply the costs you can save
in phone calls. Imagine all your staff making and receiving calls
without limitations, all for a small monthly subscription. You
can expect the same network services as with a normal land line,
such as call waiting, voice mail, caller display, call transfer
and much more.
There are three common methods of utilizing VoIP. Firstly you
can use software on your PC such as Skype. Using a headset you
can make and receive calls from your PC.
Secondly, for those who would prefer a hardware solution you can
purchase a VoIP telephone adaptor. Some adaptors can come pre-configured
meaning that you can simply plug in your telephone adaptor and
it will register with the VoIP service provider automatically.
With the telephone adaptor you can use any telephone that you would
normally plug into a BT socket. This is a great way to bridge the
gap between VoIP and your business PBX. For those that travel
around a lot, simply plug your telephone adaptor in to any broadband
connection and within seconds you will be able to make and receive
calls again. A perfect solution for those on the move.
And thirdly, you can purchase an IP phone. IP phones are essentially a telephone merged with a telephone adapter. IP phones are more intuitive due to the on screen display that is large enough to display a whole host of options and services. Additionally call handling tends to be easier with an IP phone because of the display and dedicated feature keys. As our site is "best of breed" we offer Cisco branded IP phones.
